Obituary of Kathryn Lee Hintz

Kathryn “Kathy” Hintz, 71, of Green Valley, passed away on May 17, 2022, after a very brief battle with cancer. Kathy was born on December 9, 1950, to Alvin W. Kammeyer and Evelyn L. Grizzle in Urbana, Illinois. After graduating from San Jose High School in 1969, she went on to study education at Western Illinois University. She married Gary D. Hintz in 1972, going on to have two children. Gary and Kathy would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 3rd of this year. Kathy retired from teaching to focus on raising her children, then went on to help with the farming. After retiring from farming, she continued with her love of reading and spent more time having fun with her friends. Kathy will be remembered for her fun-loving personality, which could light up a room. She is survived by her husband, Gary; her chiidren, Jena (Paul) Hilchen of Helena, Montana and Eric (Jennifer) Hintz of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Grace and Emma Hintz; and her three brothers, Darryl (Bonnie) Kammeyer of Manito, Richard (Annice) Kammeyer of Mason City and Bruce Kammeyer of Bloomington. No public services will be held. Cremation Specialist of Central Illinois is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathy’s honor, to the charity of your choice.
